Take a trip to one of the many well known Memphis restaurants and get a taste of the culinary treats we have waiting for you. ![]() ![]() It's basically one big black family reunion and Memphis has been honored to host it every year. Attend the Southern Heritage Classic (when we are covid free) This annual event brings two rival Historical Black College Football teams together every year for the same outcome! For JSU to beat TSU and for old friends to spend some much needed time together. It is also my choice when you ask me about authentic Memphis BBQ because of how my mom cooks her ribs! I love dry rub and flavor which in my opinion is authentic Memphis BBQ. Memphis is BBQ and Rendezvous is one of the most asked about restaurants we have. I know that eating local is one of the ways to experience Memphis but Rendezvous deserves a spot all to itself. Three of my favorite markets are South Memphis Farmers Marker, Cooper Young Farmers Market, and Memphis Farmers Market. Also, you can check out my Instagram page and click the link below to access an old blog that has a list of some local businesses you can shop with. The Farmers Market is a great way to shop with locals. Bass Pro taking over the Pyramid has given us restaurants, rooftop bars, amazing views, a themed hotel, and more. The Pyramid used to host basketball games, televised boxing matches, camps, graduations, and more! Although it is different now it is still an awesome place to visit. Whether it's for trolley night or just to ride around as you explore, riding the trolley's is definitely a way to experience some Memphis. We now have 3 different annual fairs and although I haven't been to the fair in about 7 years I still think it's a good thing to experience especially if you aren't familiar with it. There was good food, creepy rides, and sometimes good concerts. They would let us out of school for the first day of the fair and we would actually shop for new outfits. Go to the Fair (when we are covid free) Growing up this used to be a big deal.Attend a Memphis Festival (when we are covid free) Memphis always has so many festivals to attend and every year the list grows so, next year be ready! I'll be sure to update the festival guide as soon as it's safe for them to happen again. It is not only an amazing view but it is super relaxing and a great source of exercise. Take a bike or a walk and view the entire city from our beautiful pedestrian bridge. Just exploring Downtown Memphis helps you connect to the soul of the city! I suggest taking a ride or walk down Riverside or Main Street. The people love it and it makes them happy! I'm going to visit this week so stay tuned to check out what i think. I've actually never been to Jerry's Sno Cone but it's a Memphis staple. There will also be a variety of local restaurants offering discounts on today so be sure to check the link for the list! Plug901 New Memphis is having a virtual event and you can register here! Virtual Exposure. Let me know if you all visit any the places listed or what your favorite menu items is if you have already been.ĩ01 day is usually this huge outdoor celebration but with the way Covid-19 is set up we have to get creative this time around.
